Construction — not the only scope of ceramsite gravel. To owners of individual sites it helps to increase a harvest of fruit and berry cultures. For this purpose it is brought in the soil. It can be made in two ways:

1 Way
First, preparing for landing of fruit-trees and bushes, it is possible to fill up an expanded clay layer, then a layer of earth down, having placed roots of a plant in a hole and having powdered them with soil, from above we fill up with one more layer of expanded clay. 2 Way
At the second way, soil mixes up with expanded clay, and this mix fills up plant roots.
Irrespective of a method of application, expanded clay makes favorable impact on growth and development of plants. Thanks to entering of expanded clay into the soil when landing garden cultures we promote improvement vlago-and air exchange in the soil, we help plants to transfer the periods of the compelled drought, and also we prevent emergence on a surface of soil of a moss and a mold.

Expanded clay is required not only on garden sites, but also to fans of houseplants. It is used at cultivation of plants on a hydroponics. The idea which is the cornerstone of a method is quite simple: in order that plants could grow and blossom, they need light, air, heat and nutrients. The soil is not so necessary at all if roots can receive mineral substances, necessary for growth of plants, from nutritious solution. The plant is located in a special hydropot. It consists of an external decorative vessel and internal. The internal vessel is usually made of plastic. The bottom and its walls are supplied with openings that roots could receive enough oxygen and mineral substances. The internal vessel is filled with a substratum in which plant a plant. As a substratum usually use expanded clay with a size of granules from 2 to 16 mm. It is chemically neutral and thanks to the porous structure provides good water - and air permeability.

Before use expanded clay should be moistened. Of course, the same expanded clay can be used and several times. It does not may contain causative agents of diseases, and it should just be washed up properly. But at the beginning put a small layer of fresh expanded clay in an internal vessel. Place a plant in a pot, cut too long roots with scissors. Important advantage of a method of a hydroponics is that need for frequent watering disappears. The plant is in a vessel with a small water-supply therefore moisture it is required less, than at cultivation in the soil. It is especially convenient if you are going to leave for a long time.
