Resistance to aging as a result of warming up and the air environment:
Ability of bitumen to keep the properties in the set limits after warming up and
influences of the air environment.
RTFOT (Rolling, Thin Film Oven Test) - test by rolling of thin films in the furnace.

7.1 Method 1. Determination of resistance to aging as a result of warming up and the air environment by RTFOT method
7.1.1 To heat one part of test in a thermocase in containers from leaky closed
cover up to the temperature which is not exceeding temperature of test (163+ 10) °C for mi-
nimalny time necessary for full fluidifying of test. In the course of heating test
it is constant to mix.
7.1.2 From part of the prepared test of bitumen on 6.2 to determine initial sizes
depths of penetration of a needle at 25 °C on ST of PK 1226 and temperature of a softening on ST of RK
1227.
7.1.3 To weigh two glass containers zamarkirovanny letters A and B with on -
sinfulness of +1 mg (which mass is equal according to M0 and M /
0).
7.1.4 To place the prepared test of bitumen in the weighed containers in soot-
vetstviya with 7.1.1 weight (35,0 ± 0,5) in everyone.
7.1.5 To sustain containers with bitumen during 1 h in an eksikator at a temperature
environment and to weigh separately with a margin error +1 mg for determination of their weight
(M1 and M /
1 respectively).
7.1.6 To place containers about breakdown of bitumen in a drum of a thermocase (5.1), after that is
go as temperature in a thermocase reached (163 + 1) °C, at the working fan.

7.1.8 At the experienced tests of bitumen according to 7.1.3-7.1.7 to determine sizes
penetrations of a needle at 25 °C on ST of PK 1226 and temperature of a softening by method of a ring and
sphere on ST of PK 1227.
Requirements of resistance to aging as a result of warming up and air sre-
dy are given in the appendix E and can be shown to road bitumens in addition
to requirements of GOST 22245 by inclusion in contractual, project documentation
or technical specifications.
